The second annual Asbury Park Half
Marathon proved to be very popular this year with 600 plus participants.
The race started on the south side of Asbury Park Convention Hall and proceeded
south through Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach and into Avon. In Avon the
runners had a choice of turning around doing a three loop course or proceeding
south for a single out and back course which took them into Belmar, Spring Lake
and a turn around in Sea Girt.
Asbury Park to Sea Girt Out and Back Course - USATF Certified NJ09013LMB COURSE MAP - An Ocean Front Course from Asbury Park to Sea Girt and Back. There is a bridge that may open. Last year only a few runners got caught by one opening on the return. Last Year's Winner took this course. An Awesome course - flat and fast.
Asbury Park to Avon by the Sea- Three Loop Course - USATF NJ09006LMB COURSE MAP - Three loops from Asbury Park to a turn around in Avon by the Sea before the Belmar Bridge. Fast and Flat scenic along the boardwalks of Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach and Avon by the Sea.
No advance declaration of course is required. You can decide on the day of the race which course to take. Each course has water stops, course marshalls and help along the way. Both are anticipated to be qualifiers for the 2010 NYC Marathon.
There is no cutoff time but please let us know if you anticipate being longer than 3 hours.
